2. Where does the hike start and how do I get there?

The hike starts in the community of Pacchanta, about 3–4 hours by car from Cusco. Most tours include round-trip transportation from your hotel.

3. How long is the hike?

The hike takes approximately 4 to 4.5 hours round trip, depending on your pace and weather conditions.

4. What’s the difficulty level?

It’s a moderate to challenging hike due to the high altitude (over 4,300 meters or 14,000 feet). Some steep sections and cold weather make physical preparation and acclimatization important.

5. Do I need to acclimatize before the trek?

Yes. It’s strongly recommended to spend at least 2 days in Cusco before the hike to adjust to the altitude and avoid altitude sickness.
